Secret of Success
One of my favorite quotes is Thomas Edison’s, “The reason that so few people recognize opportunity is that it comes dressed in overalls and looks a lot like hard work.”
There is no mistaking the above statement. I think many of us are thinking back and saying, "yes, I do believe that be be true." Sometimes opportunity does come knocking and we don’t want to answer the door or we have listened to the opinions of others.
We often say, "What do you want? Go away! I'm too busy now! My brother's uncle's wife said it does not work!
What if this was just the opportunity you were waiting for? What you have been asking for? How many times have you said, "I want more money, I need to make more money or if only there was a way to be more financially free."
What if opportunity showed up at your door and got that response? What would you do in that situation? Would you just up and leave, feeling you not welcome, would you knock again? I doubt it. The opportunity would have been lost and what you had been asking for gone.
Why would we have these types of responses? Are we so stuck in our rut, comfortable with our discomfort, or happy with our unhappiness that we refuse to let it in.
The other scenario would be us opening the door slightly and saying, “Well, it’s nice to see you but your timing is not great. Could you come back a bit later?”
Most likely, opportunity will find another home.
Next time opportunity knocks, ask, “Who’s there?” and opportunity answers, pay more attention.
